e2e4 FIDE Arbiters Seminar : 28-30 October 2011

Post by Sean Hewitt » Wed Aug 03, 2011 11:58 am

e2e4 are pleased to announce that we will host a FIDE arbiters seminar at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Gatwick on Friday 28th October - Sunday 30th October. It is a requirement of gaining the FIDE Arbiter title to attend such a seminar.

The event is limited to 10 attendees. 8 places have already been taken so 2 spaces remain.

Anyone interested in attending should email me at [email protected] for further details.

Just to check, I've spoken to David Sedgwick, and I believe I'm one of the 8?

Prospective FIDE (or any other kind of) Arbiters might wish to attempt the humiliation of an on-line FIDE Arbiters exam.

See http://www.certificateofmerit.org.uk/

and select
FIDE Arbiter One
as the test level.

There are over 100 Questions each with five plausible answers to try. Each test will present 20 questions.

The FIDE Arbiter One test is free as is the Chess Pub Quiz: enjoy! :D

Technically free, but (as far as I can tell) you have to register and that will discourage some from even going that far.

Around 120 new students have registered since the FIDE Arbiter test was announced.

Around 220 FIDE Arbiter tests have been taken so far.

Do you have to give an e-mail address? I don't see a "click here to not get sent anything" option.

You could merely register with a nickname but it would make the task of the ECF Office sending out the pass certificate more demanding.

We will not be allowing any gutter press access to the CoM database!

David Welch often runs his ECF Arbiter course at Wellington College. Currently, one is not scheduled but I will ask. :D
