The rest are either the meaningless nothing statement that no-one disagrees with anyway (such as 15) or so poorly explained that it is impossible to understand how they could possibly work.
Charlie, could you reply to this post? It seems a strong argument against your proposals, and I for one would be interested to see how you would defend them.

Withdrawing is fine. Withdrawing without telling the arbiters is another matter.

Thanks William for your confirming that people on Forums can make such false statements.

1. The Arbiters were informed on the day before I withdrew.
2. Your sources for that date are probably from a part of the ECF that would try to attack me at every opportunity, as they know I will shake them up if I get in there.
3. Your opinions to me and of me are now completely devalued as you can't check facts.

I had many valid reasons to withdraw - It will be a sad day when you are not allowed to withdraw from a chess tournament without being vilified.

Some people are just plain stupid and William you are flirting with that boundary.

Jack are you claiming that I did not let the arbiters know that I had withdrawn?

Hopefully I won't need to warn a potential ECF president to be polite too often?

Of course not Carl - What is my best way of responding when someone makes false claims in a bid to damage your reputation?

Your response on the specific comment made your point clear so it really didn't need the little dig at the end did it?

William's inflection was quite sinister in his earlier post and I thought I used a sensible amount of chastisement on his unprovoked attack.

I think when addressing things on Forums or Policing them the source of the issue should be examined first and clearly his inflection was a clear attack - unprovoked at that.

My Counter response was completely valid and weighted correctly in my humble opinion.

I did not call him stupid I implied he was flirting with it - which he was - or was he not?

Yes William sounds like you have done well donating your free time of 100 hours.

When you get to 3000 hours come back and have a chat.

Keep up the good work - Maybe you should run against me for the Presidency.

Whats your ECF rating or Fide rating?

Why is this relevant in any of these discussions, the majority of people who have done alot a work within chess over the years have been lower rated, mainly due to not having the time to play the game with all the organizing

Charlie,

At the beginning of this thread, you outlined a series of policies which you plan to implement if you become ECF President.

Various criticisms have been made regarding these proposals. See, for example, the post made by Rob Thompson, which I quoted above. So far, you have not answered any of these criticisms.

A lot of comment has been made on your withdrawal from a tournament. However, I do not feel that this withdrawal is hugely important in the long term. In my opinion, the proposals you plan to introduce as President, and the changes you intend to make to the ECF, are far more important than this - and I think that many people would agree.

I hope that I do not appear rude, but I am asking you to explain these policies further. Can you explain why exactly each policy must be introduced? And justify them against the criticisms that have been made? Can you tell us which of these policies you would prioritise? How quickly would you expect your planned changes to come about?

Alex.

Charlie Storey is definitely going to become the new President that is 100% Fact!

Everyone hear is for him...

Congradulations.

I can not possibly comment on Charlie not telling the arbiters but I was told by at least 4-5 people he did not let them know.
