The Surrey Border League has published its draft fixture list for the 2011 - 2012 season.

See http://www.borderleague.org.uk/ and select Future Fixtures.

You may filter fixtures for a date, a Division, a Club or a Team by clicking on the appropriate item.

This may be of interest to those clubs who play in the Surrey League and in the Berkshire League as to their fixtures. :D

Thanks John. Are there any rule changes that players should know about?

The Central London League joins the Border League in being one of the very few leagues in the country to offer a Fischer time control (80 10).

We like to set some standards at least! :D

The AGM took place on July 29th. The minutes and any rules changes from that meeting are being finalised.

I will publish these on the archive section of the SBL web site. Previous years AGM minutes may be found there.

I hope you like the image I use to indicate adjournments. We managed to wipe them out last season!

However, the Surrey League still permits adjudication  which Jethro Tull wrote a song about...

Are the adjudicated results submitted for grading? :(

"Are the adjudicated results submitted for grading?"

If they were, they were late.

I seriously can not comprehend why adjudications are allowed.

What is the difference between someone adjudicating their game, and looking at it with the aid of computer assistance and someone using pocket Fritz on their Mobile phone during the game.

If one makes this argument there is absolutely NO reason for adjudications to take place and therefore should be demolished.

Matt,

Because adjudication means the game result is decided by somebody else, it is adjournment where the players return to finish the game off

Alan,

Apologises for my ignorance.
