Round 6:

Adams-Aronian
Anand-Kramnik
Howell-Short
McShane-Nakamura

I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict four draws!

I don't know if you're following the video post mortem, Krishna, but both Hikaru and David pointed out that they were pretty much thrown onto their own devices after 11...d5, and David said he couldn't really remember the theoretical recommendations and therefore had to spend some time formulating a plan.
Hi Ola,

Thank you for answering my questions. It is helpful to know. I had to leave early yesterday and was not able to watch the games past the beginning. I did go to the Classic, but did not arrive until late and so missed a lot.

On the plus side, Luke is doing very well (well done Luke!) and the England juniors scored an emphatic victory against India (11.5 v 7.5) last night. Some of the games are available to view (see link posted by Sabrina). They were close and time played a big part as they had 15 mins + 15secs/move thereafter.

Kind regards,

Krishna

Nakamura to beat Howell
Short to draw with Anand
Kramnik to beat Adams
Aronian - Carlsen, not sure about this one. All three results seems equally likely to me, so I'll sit on the fence and go for a draw.
Not bad Matthew, that's 3 out of 4 again. Definitely taking the mantle of Forum Oracle. I think it shoud be an official title!

Looking at the openings of the games this afternoon, I am going to get in on the predicting and forecast 4 draws.

Not very inspiring, are they? At least it means I might get some work done this afternoon.

Forecasting once you've seen the openings might be seen as cheating.....

Now that Short played ....Bb6 instead of ..Bd6, it might be a little sharper than was promised, but this can only be White's favour. The exchange of dark-squared bishops is a positional plus for White.

We will have to see, although I am wavering in that game whether to change to a win for Howell.

I'm cheating too, but I say three draws and a win for Nigel. He is going to get one of those French positions where the bad bishop isn't bad, just like he did against Mickey, and he plays them well.

10 minutes after this post he plays Bxf3. Clearly an error unless he goes on to win......!

Krishna: So, you were at Olympia yesterday? Great to hear about the England win against India, but where is this posted? I don't see any info on the Classic website, and can't find Sabrina's post.
