It is in no way gender indicative.
Except that, if you picked a GM at random, there's about a 98% chance they'll be male (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_c ... andmasters).
The Wikipedia article states that only 37 women have what it describes as the 'proper' GM title.

I thought JP meant that she got better as she played stronger players, which is almost certainly true.
That was my assumption too.

Potential Barcelona sensation Ansu Fati has signed a new contract, and watching the sports news just now, I could have sworn there was a chess set on the desk. Sure enough, seeing it again
here, there is.

According to
this website:
In a 4-dimensional-chess move no one saw coming, the People’s Vote campaign have written to the Electoral Commission asking that they be investigated over apparent dodgy donations
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

From Cricinfo site, 21/5/19 (only just seen it)
"I had to choose between cricket and chess because it would have been difficult to pursue both. You can put it this way that I had 2% more interest in cricket"
Yuzvendra Chahal on passing up the chance to be a chess grand master
And

He plays ODI and T20 for India and is former Indian U11 champion at chess apparently.

Delighted to see that Igor Rausis has made it onto the Guardian's
list for the Anti-Sports Personality Of The Year.

Sky News today at about 8.50pm UK time. Being at sea on my way to the Cribbean, it makes it diffiult to work out the UK time.
A documentary bout an English Conaan called MARK ACKLAM. There were giant chess sets briefly visible. I don't know why. Possibly because he kpt one move ahead of his purzsuers.
Well, it make a change from the election which, I believe, is taking place in the uK.

Hi Stewart,
(I wonder if they refer to the prisoners in solitary confinement as Isolated Pawns.)
Found a few company logo's:
Also stumbled across this from the 'Lawyer Monthly': Checkmate: The Grandmaster Behind Legal Victories.

Also, there seems to be no suggestion that he plays chess.
