BBC commentary on Sweden v Switzerland before game (not verbatim)

It will be like a chess game... Is that your way of saying it will be drab? (Gary L) ... Yes

Here's another reason why the Russian fans will be cheering for England on Wednesday night.

… take a chess set and you’ve got a friend for life from ECF website

Whilst it will be great to have the metrics into prisons it will also be nice to know how many sets/pieces are stolen over the next few years.

Spotted by John Emms in Heathrow Monday.
An ad for Boodles. A bracelet on the wrist of an attractive woman.
She is eying a chess set on a board which seems to be around the right way.

The board may be the right way round, but it appears White must have under-promoted one of her pawns to a Bishop!

And both White rooks are en prise! (Or Black's queenside rook is en prise if it is White to move).

And to think, Hikaru managed to hold me to a draw in an open masters in Trinidad. Oh, he was 10 years old at the time.

I just spoken to Boodles about their ad featuring an attractive young woman playing. That is a bit further upthread.
Her name is ARIZONA MUSE and she is a top model.
The campaign comes to an end at the end of this month. That is a typical problem. We only get to hear of the campaign involving chess long after it has been launched. But just occasionally one strikes gold.

I reckon that set's from Chess and Bridge because I have what I think is an identical one a few feet away from where I'm sitting. Comes in a black bag.

I wonder if we can work anything out, by retrograde analysis, about which White pawn under-promoted?
