Long term disabled chess players whose grade is under 90 may be interersted to know that on Thursday 6th June at Ordnance Survey (Southampton) chess club a simultaneous display will be given by David Drew for such players.
David's brother John who is also treasurer of the Southampton Chess League regularly plays three long term disabled players in his team, and in the Southampton Chess League this season one of our debutants has cerebral palsy, is unable to move the pieces or speak, but looks up or down to
indicate his moves which are made for him once he indicates what he
wants to do, without the person making the moves making any
suggestions.
