In the May 2013 issue of Chess, Malcolm Pein writes3. To approve the proposal of Mr. Makropoulos to authorize the FIDE President to take the personal decision as to whether to terminate the contract with Agon.
He also addsI was told that Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is a majority shareholder in Agon and he did not stump up for a second funding round as promised.
I have no proof of this, but find it compelling
