the Chess time machine battle

Post by Joey Stewart » Fri Aug 23, 2013 2:31 am

Here is a great opportunity to debate the outcomes of famous player meetings, the rules are that they are both plucked from any time period and put straight into a match with no prep time (to hopefully neutralize the modern guys advantages).

I want to start with a good battle of attack: Mikhail tal vs Adolf Anderson. How do you suppose that would pan out?
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

That doesn't neutralise anything - Tal of any year has more knowledge and technique than Anderssen by definition - I think it'd be impossible to separate the two things out. So I imagine what you mean is to give in this case Anderssen, all the knowledge possessed by Tal, to equalise, then just have them play?
