It is a bit of a classic actually (if it is indeed the one I am thinking of)

MVL was White and it went 1 f3 e5 2 Kf2 d5 3 Kg3! Nf6 4 Kh4!! Ne4+ 5 Kh5 Qg5#

(would have mated with 5....g6 personally)

Thanks Matt,

Yes that is how to good players would do it if they wanted pass a win back due to a non-chess event.
People looking at it will wonder what happened. Allowing fools mate appears to be the norm for a protest.

Not really cheating, but I thought this comment in TWIC on a game was amusing - "marked as 0-0 no score for either player in chess-results - apparently both player's phones rang very close together and they were double defaulted". The game lasted 42 moves, so it didn't happen shortly after they sat down to play.

This is a 15 minute chess.com video hosted by Danny Resch and Kassa Korley who deal with the reaction of online cheaters when they get banned. Priceless stuff such as "I wouldn't have needed to cheat if diamond membership was free".

My favourite was:

"I convinced a pretty girl I could play chess but I could not, tried to be smart to use an engine and it sort of worked out. Turned out I started to like chess more than the girl and would happily make fair use of chess.com again to play and develop my skills fairly."

Did they deal with the innocent people that they wrongly banned?

I thought these were rather well considered comments

An interesting piece bur he would do well to look at his own writings more closely before lambasting others, eg transmission time-delay may be many things, but it is hardly "archaic."

I thought this bit was very interesting
Carlsen's case is a curious one because his concerns focus on over-the-board (OTB) games. After a recent loss in the second round of Qatar Masters, he criticized organizers for not taking anti-cheating measures seriously and called for delayed transmission. Interestingly, he won the World Cup without any such delay and did not voice concerns at that time. Does he only express concern when he loses?
I hadn't realised that about the World Cup
Any postings on here represent my personal views

I assumed his point is that it takes us back to a time before live transmission of games.

Hikaru stunned by “garbage” chess cheating allegations after blitz rating record.

https://www.dexerto.com/entertainment/h ... d-2393084/

The catch all reads;
"Kick streamer and Chess grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura has found himself at the center of a new controversy following his record-breaking performance on Chess.com."

---
Vladimir Kramnik is saying Nakamura's achievement is 'interesting.' and apparently Nepo also agrees it's interesting.

It will be interesting to see how many find this cheating merry go round interesting. Personally I find it unbelievable but not surprising. Is there anyone out there who has not been accused of cheating.

They might also just be being sarcastic that hikaru considered his blitz rating as some great achievement of chess skill to be commended when it's largely just trash games of him flagging people...
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

Kramnik has been worrying about this for a long time. At Oslo Airport on the way to the Tromsö World Cup in 2013, he sought me out to discuss. Later I arranged a meeting with Makro and I to discuss his concerns. His main worry was about 2700+ players. He thought that if they had an implanted microchip that was activated once at a crucial point, it would affect the result.
