After 32 d6 gh5, even better is 33 Qg6+ with mate next move!

Oops. Quite right!

My excuse is that I was distracted trying to work out what happens after 31...gxh5 (when 32.Bd3 wins).
Not quite the same as the earlier (non-game variation) 30...Kg8 (when 31.Qf4 wins).

And in the game, doesn't 31.Qf4 win even quicker? As 31...Kh7 is met by 32.Rh5+ forcing the capture and then 33.Qf5+ etc. Actually, 32.Rh6 also wins crushingly.

GM Andrea Stella showed few ill-effects from his court case in kicking off the 2017 Italian Championships yesterday with a crunching 20-move win. Nice little game (if someone's clever enough to put it up here)

The actual game is a bit off-topic for this thread, but here it is:

Gilevych, Artem (ITA) - Stella, Andrea (ITA)
0-1
Italian Championship 2017 round 01

Can someone remind me how to put details of a game/event inside a PGN if you are adding it to the moves, rather than copy-pasting an actual PGN?

Minor niggle: is it possible for the replay function to be set-up to pause at the end of the game. At the moment, when using the replay function, when the game reaches the end and you start to look at the final position to work out why one of the players resigned (sometimes obvious, sometimes less so), the replay resets back to the starting position and you have to click the ">>" bit to get back to the final position which is ever-so slightly annoying. :D

Hit the + sign to turn off autoplay.

Although you may find it's = once the autoplay has started.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Ice-cold Stella goes 2/2 after winning a poorly-played/defended 112-move R ending

"Stella goes 2/2"

A star performance.

"but when asked about a suspicious lump in the crotch was put something more suspicious but he himself agreed to remove the device and show it by saying that it was the control of the TV."

I believe that's where the device was stored. Maybe he was relying on the slim hope that they would reach the conclusion that the idea of him having a tv remote stored there was too ridiculous to be made up

So he played in a chess tournament with a tv remote control in his underpants. Come on, haven't we all done that?

Probably not, as the accompanying pictures show a TV Remote.

The method of cheating didn't seem to have been described in detail, but presumably it would be possible to program a remote control into acting as a device for the transmission of moves. Where the engine was running wasn't stated, nor how the required moves were communicated back to him. I don't think technology has advanced so far that a TV Remote can run a chess engine. But perhaps it can if hacked.

When I had a wife, 3 kids but only 2 TV sets I could only dream of putting the remote down my underpants.
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.
