Still a position either side could win. I'd say the fact that David is awfully good with no time is roughly balanced by the fact that he has no time.

Well, it was almost dead but for some reason I can't fathom Danny's just moved his knight from d4; now it will be exchanged and he'll suffer.

Afetr uncorking a brilliant tactic to get his knight from b4 to d4, and in the process using up all of Howell's time, Danny has now put it back on b4. They're cunning, these GMs.

I think Gormally wants his dinner and a beer and Howell is gazing into the distance at his 2700+

I suppose that knight would have eventually been exchanged on d4 in any case, but at least then you have a passed pawn and can dream of putting your bishop on e5 one day. Now it looks bad, but maybe it's holdable. Not fun, though.

Still looks like time for a draw and the bar to me?

The online engine keeps saying White's winning in various ways but Howell is evidently reluctant to go for a line with Rb7 allowing Black's R to invade on the h-file. Understandable in view of the desperate time shortage.

LATER: The engine thought Rd7 was a mistake and suggested 83 Nxd6+ Bxd6 84 e5 but Howell didn't do it. Maybe he'll get another chance.

He will mess around for a while to gain some time and go for Rb7 eventually, that's my guess.

Sacking the pawn to free the Bishop made life a little easier but looked drawn either way.

Or I am an utter rabbit.

The stockfish at chessbomb continues to claim a White advantage, but isn't actually suggesting lines that lead anywhere. The last pawn move was at 66, which may start to be relevant.

Hmm, looking closer, maybe Black always gets enough counterplay after Rb7.

Another option is to put the knight on f3, king on d3 and play for e5. There's usually a way in this type of thing.

Not after 104 a5, 106 a6 and then a7,

It does look as if Howell is about to win. Whether he should have been allowed to isn't so clear.
