Are you a bishop or knight man?

Long arguments/debates have been had about which minor piece is best ( or which a player prefers.) The best answer is of course, it depends on the position and you should use all your pieces best you can. However, I ask the question more from a gut feeling perspective. Perhaps you can ask yourself the question and then answer really quickly to see what comes out your mouth! :D

I once read that the precise value of the pieces (in the opinon of the writer who was a GM) was pawn 1. Bishop 3 + 3/4 Knight 3 + 1/2 Rook 5 Queen 9 1/2 this puts the bishop slightly ahead of the old steed if we were to put the pieces in a vacuum.

Must admit I am warming to Knights more now than when I had not long learned the rules. Back then I think I preferred the whizzy bishop, long diagonals and pinning knights to monarchs :D - now I quite like the sneaky steed landing on crucial squares with forks and other mischief in mind.

The Bishop and Knight relationship is the most interesting in chess as it’s the only time that 2 completely different pieces are regarded as equal. All other fair exchanges are like for like in movement terms.

Knight man here. I enjoy the eccentricity of knights.
I float like a pawn island and sting like an ignored knight
