I heard about someone being filmed at a recent GG rapidplay event. Does this mean we see a fly on the wall doc on tv soon? Fine result of David Haydon!

I am guessing that this would be part 2 of an ongoing series on very talented children. Having last seen Peter Williams make something like 3/6 at Golders Green a couple of years ago ("losing to strong amateur Chris Briscoe" said the commentator, whilst showing him being beaten instead by Mark Josse), presumably we will now see him make 4/6, losing perhaps to David Haydon ...

I wonder whether he will say again that he wants to be world champion?

Dear Gavin and Jonathan - film cameras, yes, but part of a documentary being filmed about blind chess player Chris Ross as part of a series about people overcoming disability. I think. Chris did very well, at one point even playing without his braille set!

I believe it was being filmed 'on spec' and they don't yet have a deal with a channel to show it, so expect to see it in two years time!

The tournament also got some nice coverage in the Daily Telegraph, and with Malcolm Pein's permission and thanks to Hendon Chess Club Mike Bennett's technical wizardry you can read the article here;

Thought I'd make a nice change from the many criticsms on here- Chris Ross (and also Tyson Mordue) are real inspirations for visually impaired chess players and deserve a lot of praise.
