Geoff,
Nice game and a good commentary. I'm sure I'll be using this one at School!

Yes. Carl, thank you for providing the webspace - your contribution to chess is much appreciated north of the border.

I agree, the commentary on that game was excellent. A very interesting game, too.

Out of interest, are there plans to do something similar on YouTube for the British Championship?

So is Geoff a big Barbara Dickson fan?
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Hi. (recognise my voice?) It's Keith Ruxton doing the commentry.

If you got mated in open play and I have my camera then I took
your picture.

Here is latest Chandler Corner (day 5).

Hi All,

Glad you are enjoying the coverage and very comforting to know that I have exactly the same voice as Geoff.

We'll have a youtube report up for every round so stay tuned. Today's round sees a board 3 clash between Kjartansson and Arakhamia-Grant, both players famed for their attack styles...should be good.

Cheers,
Keith

Are the games live on PlayChess or ICC?

Both of these are much smoother (I suspect the poll interval is less granular) that the alternative.

I believe so, although how often they pickup the PGN (how they actually relay...) is up for debate?

Well I checked against one some of the games earlier, they seem to be about 3 moves behind...

The smoke seems to be clearing and Hebden is a whole point ahead. At least until he plays Black on board one tomorrow. White seems to have won every game on board one so far, which is why we have not had a consistent leader yet.

Rowson's loss to Hebden was rather one sided. No doubt his recent fatherhood is at least a partial explanation. But a Scottish winner now seems unlikely.

Mark Hebden has been playing really well so far. He may even have been winning in his earlier draw vs Jan Markos. His speed of play also makes life very difficult for his opponents. However, my money is still on Paul Motwani - 3 wins on the trot should see him through : )
