Hi Roger,

Walking away and letting the clock run down is bad form. The few times I've seen this happen
is when there is bad blood between the two players still going on from a previous meeting.
That is a different matter all together and is akin to sealing a league game in an utterly hopeless
position and not playing on to deny (in their mind )their opponent the satisfaction of a resignation.

Hi Martin,

"...better than patzers that play on in the hope of getting a stalemate..."

If one of these 'chess players' has in the past saved a totally lost game by stalemate
then they will keep trying for stalemate.

Some reading this will have relied on a stalemate trick to save a ½ point.
Why did they not resign?

Grabbing extra Queens raises the expectancy and chances of Stalemate.
Your job is to wrap it up neatly without any fuss or drama.

(or, for a laugh and if the result does not matter, you can give them the stalemate
and then they will never resign a game for the rest of their lives.) :)
