In my student days I (Unfortunately) have and have no recollection of the game!!!

NO. I prefer my Jacques Original Staunton set.

I do hope the rule is that: every time a piece is taken, the contents have to be drunk. Otherwise 'Our Man in Havana', admittedly draughts, would be pointless.
