Actually that could easily be right.

Re: British Championship Thread
Well, I decided to come and read the forum and it looks like they made some quick exchanges that the sensory boards failed to pick up. Anyway, I have got it back up to date, so it will appear soon.JustinHorton wrote:What's just happened in Gordon-Rendle?
All boards are on 5 min delay by the way.

I think Hebden's blown it at the death.

Yeah, 37... Rh5 38. Rb1 were both blunders according to Fritz.JustinHorton wrote:I think Hebden's blown it at the death.

Re: British Championship Thread
It doesn't seem to have updated from Hebden's 39th but it's highly unlikely Howell would have played ...Bd6 if he hadn't seen the winning tactics behind it.

Difference is, though, Black was already losing: whereas White's blunder lost him a totally won game.Alex Holowczak wrote:Yeah, 37... Rh5 38. Rb1 were both blunders according to Fritz.JustinHorton wrote:I think Hebden's blown it at the death.
What a tragedy.

Indeed. 38. Rd1 would have put him +3.06, apparently. Must have been caused by time trouble, both players were struggling to make the time control.JustinHorton wrote:Difference is, though, Black was already losing: whereas White's blunder lost him a totally won game.Alex Holowczak wrote:Yeah, 37... Seems to be much better today. I've missed a load but the names seemed to be in the right places at the start though.Carl Hibbard wrote:Serious decisions being made and changed here - please let me know how the broadcast is?
Main problem I've observed ... trying to follow Arkell's game and the board keeps showing moves then taking them back.
Otherwise ... big improvement on yesterday.

Yes. Williams has 1 hour on his clock, but hasn't made 40 moves yet, so I would say white has won on time.Ian Lamb wrote:yes i think hebden was winning but in the time scramble missed things.gordon looks to be won against rendle. what happening with the palister williams game did someone lose on time?!

I suspect, without knowing, that they're still going and the moves are being reconstructed for the transmission.
