Be3 - and Nxg4 should defend it

Me neither. This may explain why we're commenting on here and they're in Torquay playing...

Fritz seems convinced that white wins if the following series of exchanges is played properly.

Nf6 Re5 Be3 !! Nxc2 Nxg4 Rxe4 Rf1 Rxf1 Kxf1 Rxg4 Rxf8 Kd7 Bf2 is the main line, only way for si williams to get an edge also hebden missed nxh2 but did he see something else that i dint see!! :?

Williams is taking a long time. Could he be considering other moves like Bh6 or Rf1?

Well, how is Buckley going to stop Rxd7? I'm not sure he can both save the Bishop and stop the pawn queening.

He can't you are right. Hebden had certainly not overlooked ...Nxh2 he had calculated that the knight was stranded there. Having said that Black probably blundered somewhere

Williams may yet survive to draw if he can get his rook and knight active - he still has time and opposite colour bishops on his side.

Bonafont-Lalic seems to have stopped - possibly they agreed a draw?

[Edit: no, apparently 11-19 weren't all updating...]

Willians seems to have stopped. I'd play Kf5 and let Howell think.
