Clock Damage Solution

I was at a match some weeks ago when we noticed just how out of line the old clocks can become - the match started at the same time, two games ended in a massive time scramble blitz finish, yet one game ended 10 minutes before the other (obviously one was running considerably faster then the other).
One can only presume that clocks get into this state thanks to such players bashing them to kingdom come during such time trouble, and it got me thinking of a novel solution to this issue - what about a pressure sensor built into the clock which immediately forfits any player who strikes it with excessive force (this would have to be standardised through testing, but that is an issue for the mechanics). I am pretty sure it would result in much happier clock owners, and players learning through hard justice how not to damage other clubs property.
What say ye?
