A short story titled 'Libido Ex Machina'.
The World Champion in the story is called Boris Ivanov.

Maybe Carl can decide when it should go.
I just thought it was a funny kind of coincidence.
The gist of the story is the hero, Tod Hunter, is dyslexic and cannot spell 'resigns.'
When he won a game and wrote 'risins' or 'resngs' on a score sheet it was always a cause
of great merriment. In the first game v Ivanov, Ivanov resigned and the world's press
gathered around to see what Tod would write. Tod could spell 'draw' so he refused
Ivanov's resignation and offered an accepted draw.
Tod wins the last game and the championship but what to do with the spelling.
In a moment of inspiration he wrote 'resigns' in Russian.
