I once played cricket for the TUC against a Tribune team which included both Angela and Maria Eagle.

Keith B Richardson was Englands first Grandmaster. He got his title for ccorrespondance chess. He also played for England at Cricket playing in Englands under 19 team. I believe that he also played First team county cricket. I am not sure which county he played for but he was from Nottinghamshire. So he may well have played for them.

Keith played on board 1 for the MCC for many years. The team has also featured in recent times one or both Eckersley-Waites twins and Dominic Lawson. With 18,000 members it ought to be able to put out quite a strong team although it's a fair guess that not all of them play chess.

No record of that here
The information I had from Andrew Walker (Notts - not the ECF one!) at the time of Keith Richardson's death referred to Keith's prowess as an opening batsman for England Schools: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=9057&p=198347&hili ... on#p198347

Keith Richardson appears not to have played cricket for Notts, and when he was living in Durham, they were not 1st class. He was obviously a good player though!
