Rightly or wrongly, I was not convinced that Zurab Azmaiparashvili had deliberately engaged in racial abuse.

I don't think there is any doubt in this case. I was pleased to see that the post had already been reported.

As indeed, referring to the title of the thread, is Manchester

I have removed Alan for a week with a reason of 'Spouting a load of nonsense' and some posts were deleted.

The politics thread has now gone also my life is too short to deal with such members.

I left the least offensive one in place on purpose so people could at least get an idea of the tone and then I deleted the others.

Alan has now decided to leave the forum in a very short and shall we say to the point email message.

I deleted that also.

I had great time playing for the Peoples chess club as it was for the people

communists was never brought into the club and I enjoyed playing for them

Carl removed the original post, but left in place my response quoting it. I agree with Carl; that was necessary for the rest of the thread to make sense.

I don't know Manchester well, but not for one moment did I imagine that the now former member of this Forum was typical of Mancunians.

Earlier this year the people of each city came together impressively in the face of terrorism.

Back to chess for me now.

Can I also take this opportunity to point out that Ulverston chess club certainly is not run by communists, in fact its a smashing little place.

Mind you many of the strongest chess clubs in history have been run by communists
