My Mostest Brilliantest Chess Idea Ever

To eliminate quick mates I propose the following new chess rule "You may not move a non-pawn onto your opponent's side of the board until all your non-pawns have been moved at least once" "No draw offers during that time either" So may it be posted. So may it be implemented globally

Why? Have you recently been victimised by such a thing?

No,I just think quick mates should be slowed.

I know a couple of players who do that.

Here's a challenge though - construct a game where you can deliver mate whilst complying with the above rule, I assume you could march the king up to the 4th rank and hem it in with other pawns/pieces. I'm too lazy to work it out.

Aren't puzzles a better source of originality and ideas, like the one below which, admittedly, I couldn't solve.

From this position, White retracts his last move, then Black retracts his and replaces it with a move that permits White to mate him immediately.

That is not difficult. I solved it in less than a minute. Shall I give hints?

That is without any pieces or pawns being beyond the third rank, I win! :D

This must be possible: construct a game in as few moves as possible where one side is mated and only the kings and pawns have been moved. No promotions allowed.

(I've managed to construct a game doing this with White mating Black on the fifth move. Unfortunately it is not unique, as two of the White moves can be swapped in the order of moves.)

Has anyone tried to calculate the number of possible mates after five moves? It is quite a lot, I think, though probably problems have been composed based on most of them.

Tsk. That is trivial. Try mating using only your pawns. It can be done in five moves with White, but you do have to move them to the other side of the board. (This is the same as the problem I posed above.)

Ok, so mate in 6, white can only move the king.

That's nice. Still too easy.

Ah yes, I've solved the position with two kings now. Very cute.
