K. McDonald - J. Ross, Sandy Bells v Musselburgh, Edinburgh Chess League 2018.
My Sandy Bells team captain (Black here) very happily gave me a copy of the game.
Me. I would have sworn off the game forever and sought therapy.
White to play.
The match finished tied at 3-3.

Think I'd be with you! Absurd blunder of course but really unlucky that it was even possible to run into a mate from there.

Perhaps Black wanted to avoid Qb7 check, so played the King to h6 rather than h7. If there wasn't the threat on White's back rank, there is some danger of a repetition.MartinCarpenter wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 9:52 amAbsurd blunder of course but really unlucky that it was even possible to run into a mate from there.
