Is it necessary that boys and girls championships be orgaized separately or can i be mixed?

They're usually mixed in the UK.

Even for national youth team qualifications?

Some UK junior championships are 'mixed' but with the top-placed girl being declared the girl champion.

Iranian federation held mixed the qualification for boys/girls to send only 1 person to the WCCC. I wonder if it did anything wrong.

FIDE allows individual Federations to send as few or as many participants as it wishes. It is, or used to be, the case that the first player in each gender age group got free accommodation. The ECF for example usually uses this to offset the cost for the whole party.

Boys or Men's tournaments are very, very rare in chess anywhere in the world.
Open and girls tournaments are the norm.
Thus girls are advantaged, deliberately so. A girl can win the World U18 Championship, but could have chosen to enter the World Girls U18 Championship.

There was the ridiculous case where Judit Polgar won the World Boys U14. Surely her greatest and most unlikely achievement.
We used to have Men's Olympiad and Women's Olympiad until I got the name changed to Olympiad. A French woman played in the very first Olympiad.
Harriet Hunt won the Girls U20. The European junior championships came a little later in the year. It was at my suggestion she played in the European U20, rather than the Girls U20. She came 8th.

Does not bthe same apply to Senior Chess, Stewart?

Indeed, women play in the open team in the World or European 65+ and 50+ team championships. This year England are also fielding a 50+ women's team in the World 50+ TC. There won't be a separate women's event as there aren't enough entries. So the women's teams will compete in an open team event. There will be special prizes for the women's teams.

We also saw a few women play the Open section of the World Senior Individual Championships in 2016 and 2017.

Maybe they wanted to find their level and/or were possibly put off entering the segregated section because the first ten or a dozen entries tend to be WIM/ IM/ WGM. That must be rather off-putting for some women who might otherwise consider entering.
