Hello.
How can we publish books with British publishers?
Do you print on-demand (1-copy at a time) or is it like Iran that you print hundreds or even 1-2 thousand at one shot?
Who should pay for the publishing costs?

Did you mean chess books or all books? I would have thought both methods were in use, but for books through established publishers, you still expect to be able to see them physically in a bookshop or tournament bookstall.

If through a publishing house, I would imagine the publisher pays. If a private publication and thus potentially print on demand as well, I expect the author would have to pay.

A lot of new English language chess books seem to be New in Chess these days, rather than Batsford, Everyman, Gambit, Quality Chess and other British publishers. Or is it just the New in Chess ones that catch the eye?

My friend plans to write a chess book and I'm to translate it into English
