Are you sure? I thought the count was currently 94 after his round 7 game in the European Club Cup?

He doesn't appear to have played in the recent Chinese League matches, meaning his next game from the current 94 unbeaten will be at the Shenzhen Masters where he faces Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Anish Giri, Yu Yangyi, Radek Wojtaszek and Nikita Vitiugov from the 4-14 November

There are claims that certain GMs have gone on three figure stretches without defeat, FWIW.

For Psakhis I found a 70+ game streak. I will update this as I go along. 77 games for Tiviakov. 106 for Bogdan Lalic Now I am disappointed his streak is not officially recognized

Sergey Tiviakov in New in Chess (2017/3):
"It is a well-known fact that I am the official world record holder, as I played 110 tournament games without a defeat in the period 2004-2005. That streak lasted for 11 months. In that period I played a lot against world top players like Aronian, Radjabov, Ivanchuk and Carlsen (just to name a few)."

Tiviakov lost to Sokolov in July 2004 & to Shabalov in September 2005. Anyone out there with a large database to join the dots?

He says "tournament games", does that mean he is excluding FIDE-rated league games? You have to be precise with what you are including and excluding in these records.

Chess-db.com has Ivanchuk defeating Tiviakov on 12.18.2004 He then had a 74 game streak.

If so, it is not in any way comparable with Ding's run against almost entirely the worlds elite. Would an unbeaten minor player hold the record?Christopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 1:03 amHe says "tournament games", does that mean he is excluding FIDE-rated league games? I hope Ding continues just to gold stamp his achievment.
