This is the final week for Kirstie in the ECF Office. Responsibility for both CfS and CoM administration has been handed over to Andrew Walker.

Can someone remind me how many sets need to be produced and by when to comply with the agreement in the MoU between the ECF and HP?

Hi,

John is right, I leave the ECF this week. Andrew has taken over, and all enquiries, should anyone want to make any, should be directed to [email protected].

To my knowledge (although I have not been directly involved with this for a week or so now), HP have a new machine, that is waiting to be configured, that will concentrate on producing chess pieces, to reach the deadline of 70,000 sets by the end of July 2010.

Is the number 70,000 or 80,000 as it really does seem to keep moving?

Reason: We are what 5,000 now?

Carl,

I believe HP have said they will provide 70,000 sets for 7,000 schools by the end of July 2010. That is what I was told a little over a month ago, and the office has not been notified of any other changes.

There are, however, more than 7,000 schools registered for this project, who are still to receive sets. Maybe the number keeps changing depending on how it is being referenced.

The April finance council meeting was told that the MoU specified 70,000 sets to be produced in the 2 years to July 2010. As at April 2010 (21 months in to a 24 month agreement) 5,000 sets had been delivered (7% of the contracted total).

If Holloid are to produce the outstanding 65,000 sets by the end of July date, then production needs to be increased by 13,500%.

I look forward to seeing it happen.
