The forthcoming Board meeting and Chess for Schools

Post by andrew martin » Wed Mar 10, 2010 2:35 pm

Let's seperate the ECF designed COM project and Chess Sets for Schools

I would like the ECF Board to approach Holloid and ask them how many sets they will be producing and distributing before July 2010. I think a realistic answer is needed.

I'd also like some clarification by Holloid as to whether any external financial assistance will be necessary in order to produce these sets. Has the ECF been asked for any money to help out?

Some clear leadership is needed to resolve these questions.

I don't think this is rocking the boat, but an attempt to draw a line underneath this saga. It is going on and on, taking up time which could be better spent.

Sadly the only way to draw a line under this sorry mess is to walk away from the CfS project and concentrate on the CoM.

Don't forget, it's not just time that could be better spent. The ECF is spending real money on this sorry white elephant.

I don't think that I am breaking any confidences here. I have just received an E-mail from Kirstie. The salient points are these
1. Holloid have not produced any sets for 5 weeks.
2. They will not be producing any sets for the next 2 weeks.
3. Kirstie has passed the project over to Chris Majer.

Oh dear, I guess I shouldn't be expecting my Somerset sets any time soon.

Are the last 134 schools in East Sussex the sets delivered just in time for the November AGM do you know making it slightly more than five weeks?
