ECF Director elections for 2012/13

Anyone used LaTeX or Tex? I'm not referring to specialist clothing or cooking products.

I used some version of LaTeX to print a single issue of Dragon in around 1996 (the bulletin of the Cambridge University Chess Club). It was the system I'd inherited. It involved typing in some strange editor I can't remember the name of, and then running some compiling command that I had to write down at first and then remembered (but soon forgot again). It was necessary, apparently, to get the chess symbols to work, but my successors as editors sensibly ditched the whole system and found some other way to do it. The fact I only produced one issue was nothing to do with the typesetting software, more to do with lack of material and lack of trying to get new material to publish...

For a full-on SGML style approach I marked up my D.Phil thesis using LaTeX being scared of its super-set, TeX.

Not by choice, but most mathematicians use LaTeX, so I have to.

I know someone who prefers troff.

Tyrone Jefferies doesn't play for Snodland Chess Club any more. He decided to leave the club in May 2011 and has formed his own club (Rochester Chess Club) which is closer to his home.

I feel I will have to address these points publicly and have a file of written evidence which although I am loathe to make public, I feel I am left with little choice ... if it has to be a public legal matter, so be it. I will never be afraid to fight for what I believe to be right ...

I am so sad it has come to this but I have been abused long enough. While I may be constrained by confidentiality in my post, if I choose to leave or am voted out, I will be able to bow to public pressure and reveal everything that has really happened, along with corroborating written evidence.
