"The trouble is, the ECF (me included) isn't very good at Marketing. We need ideas rather than money. Ideas, anyone?"
Or we could have CJ and his powerful contacts....
I know which one inspires me with more confidence.

Who even is the marketing director of ECF these days?! It use to be Peter Wilson If I remember correctly. It does indeed say volumes that we don't even know who the guy is. Maybe he should market himself?

This was a little lazy posting something like this without even checking the ECF website to answer your own questionBen Purton wrote:Who even is the marketing director of ECF these days?! Alan .........I actually knew it was Mr Reuben .....even if I did not I could have got it from the 'tone' of the Perhaps someone should contact the ..... blah blah.
I was making the point that I think we should get chess on the news.
That quote is classic from the Minutes of the last meeting.......

There wasn't anyone between the two of them. Ben Egdell was, and I believe still is, our publicity officer.Ben Purton wrote:I believe my own Shark was Marketing director between Peter and Stewart

The latter's not allowed under ECF article (I forget the number). Not heard much from Ben recently other than on the forum. Maybe Ben and Ben for the former (in the absence of a Bill applying).Ben Purton wrote:Ben Edgell for marketing and publicty officer!!

This should exclude me, I have never asked or received a penny from ECF coffers and never will do - just so that is clear on this oneAdam Raoof wrote:This may have caused some very hard working and well meaning people to feel left out, when in fact nothing could be further from the truth.

This is no negotiation or ultimatum or whatever else you have suggested (blackmail was it?) but I don't see why I am not free to criticise planning?Alan Burke wrote:Suppose a member of the ECF had gone public and criticised Carl Hibbard - I am sure he too wouldn't have approved of it.

The costs on this forum are around £250 a year, the grading site costs me around the same and the live server used for games relay has a cost of around £650 a yearBen Purton wrote:I don't know how its stored by I can imagine it might even cost him money.
Plus my time
As always I am happy to cover those costs

I never said anything about you criticising the planning; I merely commented on your playground approach in saying becauyse the ECf have not done things the way YOU think they should, you were thinking of withdrawing your services.
I also note that you still have not answered my question on how you came to the conclusion I have no knowledge of the situation !
