That's a baffling figure. It's not enough to actually do anything, so why allocate any money at all?

Why satirical? Are your objections to him based on anything other his efforts in promoting Chess-Boxing? Which, I am reliably informed, is a very enjoyable night out.

Isn't it £400 before taking into account the spending on various awards which the Director basically has no control over? I thought the actual amount available for the Marketing Director to spend was less than that.

I think the question has been asked before and that the £ 400 is to pay for the various awards and related costs. The ECF website is under the nominal overview of the Marketing Director, but the budget for it is evidently elsewhere under office and staff costs.

So i can conclude that your objection is because of your perception of how he might go about marketing the ECF (based on the way he markets Chess-boxing), rather than an objection to the man himself?

Personally i would have thought that more of a concern would be to ensure that he wants the role for the right reasons, and is able to completely separate it from his role in Chess-Boxing. Beyond that if he has expertise in marketing and is able to bring that expertise to bear in a way which profits the ECF then he can only be a good thing.

Your initial post made it sound like there was some sort of reason why Tim Woolgar couldn't be trusted with ECF funds. Whereas it turns out that you just don't like the way he (I assume reasonably successfully) promotes an event that he has a financial stake in.

No, it turns out I have an issue with persistent untruthfulness.

(Which is, of course, often considerd an issue as regards whether we can trust people with money. But you may have a different view.)
