He was asked about the lack of a previous connection with English chess and about the difference that he would make if elected.
Good questions. When are they going to do the vote?

While I have no information on that subject it was presumably the reason why Malcolm Pein, who the chairman allowed to attend the meeting as a guest, left early.

If they do five minutes for each candidate even where the candidate is only opposed by none of the above, it will take a while to get through.

I'd have thought somebody might Tweet the results, but the ECF account is less than hyperactive.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Is Alex H there? And, if so is he wearing full NFL gear - he's become so defensive despite being unopposed.

Well when he left e2e4 High Wycombe earlier he looked to be wearing normal clothes. He was carrying a large suitcase with him. Perhaps he put his shield in there

The forms are being collected in. I am so pleased that I am not a teller.

If it's a tie, do they play blitz to decide it?

The tellers are still out. In the meantime the Board has withdrawn its latest attempt at a complaints policy, and the meeting has approved a widened version of Sean Hewitt's motion requiring the Board to investigate the viability of the direct election of directors by members of Council, so that the whole question of the balance of voting power between direct members and affiliated organisations will be reviewed.

Maybe the new Board will get the Governance Committee to come up with a suitable complaints policy, or just appoint a small group (including David Sedgwick) to draw it up
