4.5/5. He's consistently the best U13 in an age group that has excellent depth for both male and female players.

Should be enough to count as a tournament win on Charlie's website

Re: British chess championship
Oh, well if it is hidden away in the dead zones of the forums then at least we now have a discussion page in the active area.
I thought I would start with this- anybody know if there is live games being put online this year, I've had a look around and not seen anything yet (unfortunately the past British championships tend to be top of the Google searches)

Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

If you click on "active topics" in the top left it shows that the dead zone is the most activeJoey Stewart wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 11:37 pmOh, well if it is hidden away in the dead zones of the forums then at least we now have a discussion page in the active area.

Thanks for pointing that out. Two names had been transposed on the live boards output sent to me when I was arbiting.Matt Bridgeman wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 9:19 pm4.5/5. He's consistently the best U13 in an age group that has excellent depth for both male and female players.
(We had a few cases of that for some reason, but I hope I caught all the others.)
I have fixed it in the file for next week's TWIC now.
The player he drew with (from France) also scored 4.5.

You are not kidding there, I played 4ncl in the same team as Tom one season and he managed to win 6 games from worse positions when his opponents made massive unforced blunders - the force is strong with him!Martin Benjamin wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 7:38 pm
Great result for Tom Villiers - Tom has an uncanny ability to induce blunders from strong opponents and it happened again today with Daniel Fernandez's 52...Kc5 ??

Adams - Pigott. After 10.Bf4 I'm thinking "I've got three pieces out, he's got no pieces out, why am I not winning?" What don't I understand about chess?

Re: British Championship Congress 2019
Is the answer "yes, but you got no centre pawns"?
(I've had the same experience playing the French, or even just looking at the theory. You have to have a lot of faith in those white-squared pawns.)
