Another win by default for Palliser.

"Death ray Palliser"
Has Keith really forfeited? Are they playing "zero tolerance" or is he unwell?

And, ah, are there seven-round norms?

No, norm chance has sadly disppeared. Very unlucky.

By the way, can he now be drawn against either player again?

Yes. FIDE Handbook pairing rules~
6 Two paired players, who did not play their game, may be paired together in a future round.

Mm, Jack 20 minutes down on the clock. That doesn't happen very often. Mind you, Dan Fernandez also plays very quickly.

Mr Palliser should probably have his entry fee returned. He could not be blamed if he chose to withdraw.

Nice win for U13 Jacob Yoon against CM Thomas Villiers, who was last years Major Open winner possibly.

It looks as though Jack panicked when his clock went below an hour.

Looks like 11 Kd3 is forced. The whole game looked a bit random and played very quickly, particularly by Tom Villiers.
