I expect this will be an important topic in the next few months when Mike Truran steps down. It will be interesting who applies to replace him.
I'm not sure why the idea of Brian Cox playing Mike Truran in the style of Logan Roy amuses me as much as it does.

It will certainly be interesting to see who applies but most organisations - rather than waiting to see who applies, which tends to be the person who feels s/he can best do the job - have a succession plan which tries to identify the person who his/her peers feel can best do the job. It might be that having a chess background is less important than experience running something comparable but, whether that's true or not, one has to wonder whether anyone who has the qualities to do the job effectively would be interested in taking on something with no pay and plenty of headaches and, if so, why.
