This is a poorly worded question. Can you clarify what exactly people are voting for / against?

It is yes - sorry about that, how should it be worded do you think?

The "other" poll had a request from Ian in it:

A second poll might be useful as well - "On a scale of 1-10, how interested are you in seeing your grading details?"
If lots of people are very interested that might justify more effort being put into it than if most people aren't that bothered.

Answers on a postcard

How about "How interested are you in seeing details of the results that went into the calculation of your ECF grade (similar to what is currently published by FIDE and the Yorkshire CA)?"

For me, all I'd really like to see is a list of opponents and results, so I can see that all the games that should have been graded have been, and that I haven't been assigned anyone else's results by mistake. The information in the preliminary results check is more than sufficient, if it was provided at the end of the season for all games.

I'm just worried that without an example of 'grading details' people might not realise what enhancements we're suggesting over and above the excellent service you already provide! Perhaps a link to the sites being compared? Or some screenshots?

Here is the link to my 2010-2011 Yorkshire Grade

http://www.chessnuts.org.uk/ny5/pdetail ... yerid=6471

If you click the date you get the whole results for the specific round of the tournament/match

I voted 10 ;-)

When the ECF grading system is as slick as Chessnuts, will there be any point in a separate Yorkshire grading list?

Some of the source is remarkably similiar to the ECF site to be honest

Carl,

Can you explain this, and if the YCA can produce a system like this what is stopping the ECF doing exactly the same

Of course there will, unless the ECF will simultaneously scrap game fee.

Some of the Yorkshire leagues seem to object to being corporate members of the ECF on principle. Whether they would become members if it were free is unknown, but they don't want to pay anything to the ECF. They can do this because of the existence of a stand alone regional grading system.

http://www.sjmann.supanet.com/gradpoly.htm is from an archive of the county association website

I think Carl is cheekily referring to (stop me if I am wrong) the fact that most (in fact 10 from 13) of your opponents are outside the YCA grading scheme, and it just links back to the ECF grading database!

Nothing is stopping the ECF doing something like this, or like the Scottish online grading list. In fact it may now happen!

So the YCA are using ECF grades to compile their own list? Should the ECF not make a charge to them for use of this information?

I'm able to view my welsh rating and watch it change after every game:
