All of the Open team of Adams, Jones, Short, Howell, Pert (N) have played in at least one of the last three British Championships and apart from Short, not just at Sheffield. It seems odd that the matter of 2014 is being discussed here and as a separate topic on the forum. Should they not be combined together?
To answer Kevin, I was too busy in 1922 to be associated with the British Chess Championship. The 12 player championship was also not contested in 1927, 1930.
The problem about how to make the British Women's Championship attractive for our leading players has been a perennial problem.
