Perhaps reasonably, he says that most of his year was fire fighting on the various negative stories surrounding the ECF.
I'm not sure what he is getting at when he says that ECF Directors should use Facebook rather than this or for that matter, any forum. Is he saying that ECF Directors should not be prepared to air and defend their views in a manner open to public debate and scrutiny?

This would be even more popular and successful if members of the ECF Board of Directors took a lead in using this platform. Unfortunately, a substantial amount of the ECF resources are instead expended on the EC Forum.

So what extra do you see as a Facebook member?
The EC Forum is an excellent website for discussing English chess; however, it is not an appropriate arena for ECF board members to make public statements and I have attempted to promote the wisdom of this policy over the course of the year.
