ECF Advertising

Post by Gareth T Ellis » Tue Feb 09, 2016 4:26 pm

It appears that the ECF haven't been charging for advertising for quite awhile now, I wonder how many adverts will be left now they have to pay.

I found out in person, at least two not charged for the whole of last year, possible all of them.

One or two adverts have already vanished at least one more will, possibly more.

I assume that this matter fell under the remit of the Commercial Director.

What would be wrong with the ECF charging for ads on their homepage?

Gareth,
The advertisers I brought on board when at the ECF were ALL at agreed rates , and should have been invoiced each month.
If the three strong finance team choose not to issue invoices then I guess that's up to them.

Paolo, they do charge and have for years, but nobody asked/collected it last year.

Bob,
It was 6 month/annually in advance, the office staff have always been most helpful and efficient when I've needed to contact them regarding various matters.

I must be suffering from a failure of logical ability here. A few people/organisations were willing to advertise on the ECF website in return for a fee. For whatever reason that fee wasn't invoiced for. The contention is that people who were willing to pay, but weren't asked to pay, will now choose not to advertise now they are belatedly being asked?

This does not affect me directly but possibly a reason for concern is the thought that invoicing might be happening on a random basis. "Why should I pay when others may not be being invoiced?" I don't know but could that be a cause for concern?

Mmm, that "advertising revenue" term does attract the eye.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."
