The Grand Prix runs each year from 1st July to 30th June

so does mean that the 20187/18 is over

It's probably not quite over yet, as events in late June still have another few days to submit their results for grading (which is the source of compiling the Grand Prix leader board).

Over, but probably not final results - some probably haven’t been reported yet.

Can’t help but feel that the £1000 for the women’s Open section could be put to better use as the evidence would suggest that the leading contenders either weren’t aware of it, weren’t aware of the rules, or weren’t particularly interested in winning it.

Wait until the next month update. I also thought new prizes for league/club chess. So hopefully those will still be there. I'm not saying my grade is artificially low. It is what it is when we get the July/revised August update.
