Does anyone know whether Adair's forthcoming win pushes him to 2500?

(My guess is: just one point too short. But a guess it is).

Mind you, today's is a game which both players will want to forget, and another reminder that smoothly converting winning positions is not one of Adair's strongest suits.

Another oddity is that Gwilym Price's victory over Jovanka Houska, presumably the result of the day, currently appears as a draw on Chessbomb.
Yes, all credit to the young player, for winning well against a very tough defender, but I do think that Jovanka rather gifted the point with her extravagant Bxh4??
Another fantasic result. Draw ith black vs GM Peter Wells

Great result and nicely finished by David Eggleston today, but would I be wrong in thinking that McShane spectacularly buggered that one up?

My display is giving a no show by Wells... is that wrong, then?

Hmm, chess-results.com is, indeed, giving a draw. Does anyone have the pgn?

Has he got points to come from another event? Gaining 4.6 so far here

Not to my knowledge, very much the theme when I talk about ratings (mine or other people's)

Jovanka won I suppose, with Ke4 to indicate 1-0 rather than actually played

I'm resultant to join in the predictions game - too difficult to assess Adams' form.

For the millionth time, it is the spirit of fun, not really a competition to be "right" ... and the fact that Adams is not in his most dominating form adds to the enjoyment, if you guess right!

Well, I predicted Adams before the tournament began, and on 2/2 he is still well placed. Of the leading players, McShane has dropped a point, and any of them could come unstuck in their individual games against Adams, whereas it is rare to see Adams lose against players outside the world elite.
As ever, it will be interesting to see which of the players just outside the favourites (say, the Olympiad team) make a breakthrough. My money would be on Adair or Fernandez to run the leaders close.

Adams. The other contenders will drop points and half-points to outsiders.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

I think the removal of the tail makes a submarine run somewhat less likely(in the sense of somebody sneaking into a playoff without having to meet m(any) of the other leaders - as very nearly happened last year). On the other hand i don't think it is completely out of the question that 6.5 is a winning score. I think a score of 7 will win outright.
