"The objection only really comes up in regard to the British Championships (there is one particularly vociferous poster on the Chess Heaven facebook page) and my point is that the British is ultimately financed by all English chess players who should have an equal chance to play in it, not just those in London. Personally I would have no objection to a London British but I would object if it was always in London"
My post was regarding the formation of BCF and the biannual meetings. Hull did a great job of the British this year, (apart from the weather!) and obviously all members should have an equal chance to play in it, if they are allowed to qualify. The British is never near London.
Anyway, lets hope the 2 Cs provide some interesting chess for us to enjoy.

If you use travelling time as a metric, the British is about as near to London next year as it is to me.
