I'm not aware of many books where one of the authors has written the preface.

Re: Trivia Question
I will slightly modify the question...
Can anyone provide the title of any chess book where LS Penrose has written the preface?
(I don't know if he wrote more than one).

Re: Trivia Question
I refused to submit an answer just in case that particular star prize was on offer.

Re: Trivia Question
Thanks John, I thought your were kidding.
The Leyton Orient Mug arrived today!
By coincidence also today I entered a 1951 Aitken v Lionel Sharples Penrose game (a draw) from Aitken book 11.
(just waiting on confirmation from John Saunders but it clearly says L.S. Penrose.)
Also in Book 11, an Aitken v J. Penrose game (Aitken won) Aitken adds a wee note saying it is one of his' best ever games.'
That too was played in 1951, actually on the 30th June 1951 - the same day I was born! (and it is a very good game.)
(0n the 27th May 1950 Aiken lost to Jonathan Penrose at Ilford, the following day he lost to Oliver Penrose.)
Thanks Again.
