Thanks Charlie. But don't put too much pressure on yourself. We understand you will not have much time free while you are on holiday playing chess.

Round 2 is a tough pairing - GM Karen Movsziszian. White Sniper time? :) Ali Hill gets GM Arian Perez Gonzalez. And Leonard Barden's pre-tournament tip, GM Stephen Gordon is playing catch up after drawing with a 2041 in round 1.

In round 4 Charlie beat Belgian GM Mher Hovhannisyan to move to 3/4. Going very well!

That is a good result. A pity he got the downfloat so is not on a live board, although I think Stephen Gordon will be against the Russian veteran Raetsky

2nd GM in a row downed. Charlie motors to 4/5. Surely the live boards await!

Good evening gentlemen!

Finished Joint 22nd in this Super Strong Open above 4 Grandmasters and on the same points as 5 other Grandmasters!!

The 5 GMs I played against I scored 2.5 /5 and was desperately unlucky blowing a completely won ending in one of them which cost me a GM Norm possibility. A tough one to take. The really good news is I haven't played Blitz for 10 Days!

Hi Charlie!

Thanks for all that.

In your parallel promotional thread I alluded to some moves in probably your worst bit, the opening moves of the game Storey-Nasuta, in which your London was overwhelmed in no time at all.

Maybe you, or some other kind soul, could point me to your best bit so I can see a few of your good moves.

That's Blitz of course. It's 3009 as of writing and ranks 60th on that server.

GM Max Illingworth of Australia is presently top at 3339.

What's the meaning of all this?

(And, while we're at it, how many runs did IM A. Martin score?)

Time to duck, duck and go.

Does that count as a win?
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."
