World-class chess coach Julian Meszaros is now offering weekly coaching sessions in Muswell Hill (near Hornsey & Crouch End), North London.

When: Monday nights - 6.30-9.00pm, starting this week 22nd February.

Aimed at: adults between 120-180 ECF grade

Details:
- themes will be basics of positional play, tactical and general endings, rook and pawn endings.
- 3 x 45 minute coaching sessions, with 5 minutes breaks between.
- Coaching groups of 1-15 people

Fee: £20 for the evening, which includes a cup of tea or coffee!

Venue: Syl’s Cafe, 316 Park Road, London N8 8LA
Situated at the bottom of a Muswell Hill itself, this is a lovely Hungarian cafe which serves great teas, coffees & cakes plus light meals such as sandwiches, etc!

IM Julian Meszaros has been a professional chess coach since 1992, and currently works with both juniors and adults in London and the surrounding area.

Widely regarded as the most successful Hungarian trainer of the past two decades, he was head coach at the Peter Leko Chess School in Hungary before moving to England 4 years ago.

Many of Julian's ex-students are now IMs and GMs, and he has been the main coach of many medallists in international competitions, including two age-group World Junior Champions. He now coaches a number of England's top juniors.

For nearly 20 years Julian was also the Hungarian Chess Federation's Junior Supervisor, leading its junior team in dozens of world tournaments and developing the regional and central chess school system in Hungary.

Julian speaks, translates and publishes in several languages, and has written a highly-regarded book on opposite-coloured bishop endings.
