Re: FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships
Interesting. Four questions:
(1) Where will it be held in London?
(2) Will tickets be on sale to the general public?
I nearly asked if ENG teams be taking part, but I see the teams are 'private' ones (e.g. WR Chess Team and Al-Ain ACMG UAE). So the questions then become:
(3) Have ENG players been head-hunted for the teams that take part?
(4) Could mostly ENG teams be put together and entered for the occasion?

This is last year's event which had a tail of locally based teams.Christopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 6:46 pmI nearly asked if ENG teams be taking part, but I see the teams are 'private' ones (e.g. WR Chess Team and Al-Ain ACMG UAE). So the questions then become:

Yes, as Sutovsky has said "the event will allow many English club players to face the biggest stars of the game" and "we will introduce significant prizes for non-professional clubs and teams."Christopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 6:46 pm(4) Could mostly ENG teams be put together and entered for the occasion?
The question might be whether the entry fee is of a reasonable amount or whether it's prohibitively expensive to enter (or any other conditions that would put club players off entering).

From memory, it was €1000 per team last time.Ian Thompson wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 7:13 pmYes, as Sutovsky has said "the event will allow many English club players to face the biggest stars of the game" and "we will introduce significant prizes for non-professional clubs and teams."Christopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 6:46 pm(4) Could mostly ENG teams be put together and entered for the occasion?

Re: FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships
In addition to the €1000 team entry fee:
4. 11. 2. Each team shall wear a team uniform. The uniform can be created by the team. The jersey should be a shirt or blouse
(including polo shirts), and may be paired with a jacket. If the team prefers, they can order a standardised uniform via the Organising
Committee not later than 10 May, featuring their team colours and logo. No players with flip flops, shorts, hoodies, baseball caps or
inappropriate (e.g. dirty, ripped) cloth are allowed in the playing area.

Our interest ended when we saw it cost £1000 and required coordinated costumes!Roger de Coverly wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 11:55 pmFor that matter are any UK based teams intending to enter?Andrew Craig wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 9:12 pmgiving this thread a bump in case anyone is aware of any news on general tickets for spectators..
