And, by the way, I am quite excited about England's prospects in this thing. I think they will benefit a lot by having Jonathan Speelman in the team. Team spirit counts for a helluva a lot, and I can vouch for the fact that not only is he an amazing player but he is psychologically the ideal kind of guy you can't help but love playing alongside.

Lenderman's match winning key idea of trapping the queen in the middle of the board was pretty incredible.
The tweet refers also to the American women who were clearly inspired as well!

All England games seemingly stuck in the opening, no moves for an hour or more.

Well that's a shame. I'm free today a couple of hours earlier than expected, and I rather fancied watching that.

I have no doubt that the problems experienced in live transmission are harder to solve than a layman such as myself would imagine. However, it really is time for FIDE to make solving them a top priority.LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 10:36 amAll England games seemingly stuck in the opening, no moves for an hour or more.

Adams has drawn in 31 moves which are now visible. Gawain's game has crept along to move 17.NickFaulks wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 12:06 pmI have no doubt that the problems experienced in live transmission are harder to solve than a layman such as myself would imagine. Re: World Teams 2019
Commentators just reported all four games drawn in England-USA match.
China in trouble again as Nepo' beat Yu Yangyi and Wei Yi looks close to lost.

I suspect that FIDE didn't send their own experts, but relied on the resources available to the local organisers.NickFaulks wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 12:06 pmI have no doubt that the problems experienced in live transmission are harder to solve than a layman such as myself would imagine. I suspect that you are right, but I don't care. One way or another, FIDE must ensure that the live feed from its prestige events does not fall over. It is a very bad look.David Sedgwick wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 1:22 pmI suspect that FIDE didn't send their own experts, but relied on the resources available to the local organisers.
