There's a version of it on a creaky Shredder site that worked for a bit (and then didn't) but is there a reliable version anywhere?
I found an mostly reliable Android app that connects to the Lomonosov tables.

Yeah I have a Lomonosov app and if I ever find out how it works it'll be great

Oh that's interesting. There's a version of it on a creaky Shredder site that worked for a bit (and then didn't) but is there a reliable version anywhere?

I don't see why 2 tablebases would be different: they show ALL positions and moves leading to a win or draw.

Sure but it doesn't seem to display the same information as the Nalimov site does, so I don't know if I'm missing something

What information dont you see? It gives which moves win or draw and how many moves the win takes. It is a complete 7 man tablebase.
Its the most user friendly one ive ever used.

How do I cause that to be displayed, after I've set up a position?

I just ran a test of the Android app on a phone.

First I cleared the board. It's the cross at the bottom of the screen.
Message displayed "no White King"
place a white King on e1
Message displayed "no Black King"
place a black King on e8
Message displayed "draw"
place a white Rook on a2
Message displayed "White mates in 12" accompanied by an arrow pointing at a7.

It's not immediately obvious, but you set up the position, then select "Analysis Board", then it's the book symbol (highlighted in the screenshot) you need to click on to get tablebase analysis.

Ah, that's great, it was that last step which had eluded me. Thanks all.

Caruana's Nc6-e7-c6 manoeuvre surprised me at least
